ISDN for video conferencing

At the planning stage, ISDN was seen as a means of ‘future-proofing’, along with the installation of telephone and data network points. The theatres were therefore designed with video conferencing in mind. The video projection equipment can be used to display the remote end of the video conference.

Linking theatres

At the moment two of the theatres (B and E) can be (simply) linked together. This means that large conferences can be accommodated, and the presentations can be displayed on the screen and questions from the audience in both lecture theatres can be answered by the speaker situated in one of the lecture theatre - the answers obviously being heard in both theatres.
