Special Text Characters

In order to allow Superscripts, Subscripts, and Line breaks within data in a Data page, Deltagraph provides what it calls special text characters. You can insert these characters as follows:-

  1. Click on the data cell containing the text you wish to change.
  2. In the Editing line, insert the cursor in front of the particular text you wish to change.
  3. Choose Special Text from the Text menu and then select Insert Superscript, Insert Subscript, Insert Linebreak, or Insert Normal from the hierarchical menu, as required.

(Note: to open a data page, select Data View from the View menu, then select (in this case) the entry Tut_Line#1Data).

Alternatively, you can type in the special character combinations directly. These are:-

Superscript \+
Subscript \-
Line Break \r
Normal \=

For example, if , in our example line graph,we had written S=ut+0.5gt\+2\=, instead of S, as follows:-

... then selected Update from the Data menu, the legend for the graph would have been displayed as:-
