Appendix 2 : The Facilities Matrix

The rationale for the inclusion of a particular software package in the matrix was prirnarily on the basis of functionality. In addition, due consideration was given to the degree of knowledge and use of the package within the user community, and whether a CHEST and/or site licence deal was available.

The abbreviations below are used throughout the matrix :
