Understanding Computer Based Learning

This package aims to provide an understanding of the concepts and techniques
of Computer Based Learning (CBL). It should be of interest to anyone who
wants to know more about CBL. The software comprises CBL chapters and the
'CBL Builder' - a practice development environment.
The CBL chapters explore CBL concepts and techniques through demonstration
and worked examples - key elements covered are:
- CBL Overview
- CBL Approaches
- Design Issues
- Multimedia
- Evaluation
- Analysis and Design.
The 'CBL Builder' provides the opportunity to practice some of the ideas
introduced in the CBL chapters.
The CBL chapters and 'CBL Builder' are accessible via a Table of Contents
which provides a flexible learning and exploratory environment. A full set of paper-based documentation is available to support the use of the 'CBL Builder'.
A knowledge of Windows and word-processing is assumed.
The minimum system requirements are:
- PC with 80386 processor (486 strongly recommended)
- 4Mb RAM (8Mb strongly recommended)
- SVGA Graphics
- 13Mb free disk space
- MS Windows 3.1x
- MS Video for Windows driver.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PACKAGE CANNOT BE INSTALLED ON A NETWORK.
The package, which consists of four disks and user documentation, costs
£35.00 to UK Higher Education Institutions and £55.00 to non-UK
Higher Education Institutions (plus postage & packing overseas).
