Guide to good practices for WWW authors
Generating HTML
In the normal case where HTML is the format, there are a number of options
available for generating the HTML. Broadly these may be classed as follows:
- written with a text editor
e.g. Emacs on Unix, or Notepad on PC
- written with an HTML editor
e.g. HTML Assistant on PC
- generated with a word processor add-on
e.g. Internet Assistant
- translated automatically from another format to HTML
e.g. RTFtohtml.
- generated with a dual-purpose browser/editor
e.g. Netscape Gold
